Leutkirch - February 2008
Whether glossy, matt or lined, every surface speaks its own language.
Depending on the combination of design and material, they create holistic effects in every project. This year, Thermopal is presenting an especially haptic surface innovation for this subtle design field: graphic structure 72 "Linea" for a straight lined, elegant appearance. Together with surface innovation 22 "Natural wood pore", "Linea" is a further enhancement of Thermopal's surface programme; furthermore, the two surfaces are available in any design and for any core technology, in the popular DST system.
The linear and very haptic structure "Linea" has a charming glossy-matt effect and a fine, irregularly lined surface, and radiates an extremely elegant, sensuous character. Thanks to its special appearance, "Linea" enhances the existing colours in the design and not only adds a more intensive radiance and expressiveness, but also new meaning. Plain designs, for instance, are redefined in colour and volume with "Linea", and are given a modern, iridescent effect. The structure adds a fresh, modern touch to finely striped woods, whereas the interplay with "Linea" adds depth and spaciousness to striped fantasy designs such as Thermopal's "Mystic" series. In all, thanks to its finely nuanced and unquestioning versatility, the new structure is an important design element. Thanks to its strong linearity, "Linea" is ideal for use on fronts and carcasses.
Another highlight in Thermopal's surface programme is Surface 22 "Natural wood pore". This finely pored, matt surface makes wood reproductions look just like the real thing. It adds a remarkably realistic appeal and helps to create an extremely even overall impression. Natural wood pores also have the advantage of being less sensitive than comparable matt surfaces, which makes them suitable for vertical and horizontal use.
