Paper Honeycomb Composite

Decorative paper honeycomb board, faced on both sides with a 3.2 mm HDF board. Glued on both sides with 0.8 mm HPL and/or metallic HPL. Thanks to the HDF facing, common fitting and connection techniques can be used for this lightweight board with paper honeycomb core (SWAP). This board can also be cut without restrictions and can be processed on conventional edging machines.

Field of application

  • Decorative and general furniture construction and interior fitting in ship building, vehicle and caravan construction. As table or work surface in offices and conference rooms. In exhibition construction and shop fitting for example for displays, partition walls and mobile elements.

  • Barless paper honeycomb board (SWAP), sealed with an HDF deck on both sides.

Cleaning and care

  • The surface can be cleaned with water and gentle cleaning agents. To remove stubborn stains, please observe the recommendations in the data sheet "Cleaning of HPL surfaces".

Product safety

  • The surface is physiologically safe, and approved for direct contact with food.
  • The material is not rated as hazardous material.
  • This product is following the REACH regulation EG 1907/2006 an article. Following Article 7 it needs not to be registered.

Special

  • Surface finish with HPL acc. to EN 438-3 and/or metallic HPL.
  • Slight colour differences to HPL without overlay and to melamine faced boards are possible on wood and stone reproductions, as well as on fantasy designs.
  • It is recommended to order overlay for horizontal, heavy used surfaces in combination with metallic designs. Slight visual difference to the surface is possible without the overlay.
  • HPL characteristics deviating from EN 438-3/-8 can be achieved with this core board.

Processing

Machines and tools

  • Machining can be done on all common machining equipment and processing centres.
  • Carbide tipped tools are suitable for machining and processing.

Edging

  • The use of thick edges is recommended.
  • Thin edges are only suitable if support edges are used at the same time.
  • EVA and PUR hotmelts are recommended for edge adhesion.
  • The adhesive should be applied in the opposite direction of the core board movement.

Fitting technology

  • Direct fixations screws with special threads and all the usual products used in furniture construction are suitable, as well
  • as surface or fittings attachment using PUR adhesive systems.

Installation and assembly

  • Sufficient conditioning is required prior to installation. The premises themselves need to be air-conditioned according to future use.
  • Please ensure that the material is processed and fitted correctly and using the best available technology.

Health and safety

Storage and handling

  • On all level surfaces (e.g. pallets), in dry, vented rooms.
  • Protect from moisture and wet conditions.

Disposal

  • We recommend material recycling or energy recovery.
