ESA Chipboard Composite type P2

Electrostatically conductive composite board. ESA chipboard on both sides glued with 0.8 mm ESA HPL.

Field of application

  • Wherever electrostatic charge needs to be prevented, the products out of our ESA systeam are essential. The conductive components in core material and coating facilitate safe and simple earthing. In workplaces, in microelectronics, laboratories and control centres.

  • normally inflammable

Formaldehyde emission class

  • E1 (EN 120)

Volume resistance RD

  • 1 x 104– 1 x 109 Ohm (EN 61340-5-1)
  • measured dry, measurement voltage 100 V DC, cylindrical electrode, 20-30 °C and 20-50% rel. humidity (96 h conditioning)

Cleaning and care

  • The surface can be cleaned with water and gentle cleaning agents. To remove stubborn stains, please observe the recommendations in the data sheet "Cleaning of HPL surfaces".
  • The impact of water and cleaning agents should be limited to a short time period, drop quantities and standing water should be avoided. Please wipe the surface with a fluff free cloth allover and efficient dry.

Product safety

  • The material is not rated as hazardous material.
  • This product is following the REACH regulation EG 1907/2006 an article. Following Article 7 it needs not to be registered.

Sustainability

  • Thermopal wood chipboard is a environmentally friendly wood material. We use approx. 65% wood offcuts from industry, obtained in the processing of round timber, plus industrial wood from forests in the region.
  • We are supporting sustainable forestry in line with international standards. Ecological, economical and social criteria are all taken equally into account.
  • We support the preservation of wood as a natural resource in the sense of a recycling economy by using approx. 35% of our source material from scrap wood of category A I and A II in accordance with the regulations of the scrap wood ordnance. By recycling these materials, we are also making an important contribution towards binding carbon and reducing hazardous carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere.

Special

  • Available in the designs Span 140, U016, U043, U133, U154.
  • Resistant to liquid solder.
  • Please observe the information contained in the technical data sheet "Electrostatic discharge capacity of decorative laminates (HPL)".

Processing

  • Can be worked with carbide tipped tools on conventional woodworking machines.

Edging

  • Thick and thin edges are suitable.
  • EVA and PUR hotmelts are recommended for edge adhesion.

Fitting technology

  • All conventional removable and non-removable fittings for solid wood and wood materials are suitable.

Installation and assembly

  • Sufficient conditioning is required prior to installation and assembly. The premises themselves need to be air-conditioned according to future use.
  • Please consider during construction and fitting that in ESD protection zones (EPA) the ESD work stations have to be earthed (same electrostatic potential of all elements). This can be achieved construcionally via a connection of the conductive elements of one EPA with an EPA-earth.
  • Conductive materials which are fitted insulating are rechargable and therefore a risk potential.
  • Please ensure that the material is processed and fitted correctly and using the best available technology.
  • Please contact your ESD consultant or use corresponding technical literature for further information and concrete realisation instructions.

Storage and handling

  • On all level surfaces (e.g. pallets), in dry, vented rooms.

Disposal

  • We recommend material recycling or energy recovery.
