To Thermopal, environmentally responsible action is both a commitment and a matter of course. Which is why we think it is also a matter of course that we should conserve energy and resources, reduce emissions and manufacture durable products. Wood is one of our most important raw materials. In order to fulfil our obligation to this natural and renewable resource, we abide by the principle of sustainable forestry. We use woods from sustainably managed certified forestries and recycled wood for our products. Thermopal has an active environmental management policy that is certified to ISO 14001: all our business processes are constantly checked for their effects on the environment, and continuously improved. We are constantly developing new procedures and processes in order to use raw materials and energy as sparingly as possible. CO2 is one of the leading influential factors in global climate warming. Trees draw carbon out of the atmosphere as they grow, and this carbon remains within the tree throughout its lifetime. It even stays there if the natural raw material is processed, for instance turned into chipboard. The longer the wood product is in use, the greater the accumulation. After they have been used, the wood products are either recycled, for instance in the production of chipboard, or used as a CO2-neutral source of energy. This means that Thermopal’s wood materials are in a closed CO2 circuit that protects the climate and the environment. |
